|“simply fantastic !”
We took the all inclusive package including the pick up from the airport in Medan, 2 nights in the River Side Inn and two nights in the jungle. So lets start at the beginning:
The pick up at the airport worked perfectly, Bai one of Omano guides picked us up and we drove to Bukit Lawang. Driving takes about 4 hours so it makes sense to choose a flight that arrives around midday at Medan.
Then we got our room at the River Side in, a really big and beautifull room. In the evening we were planing the details with Omano and had a really good talk.
We started our trek at about 9 a.m. so it was not too early and we had a good breakfast at the River Side in.
First you cross the river by boat and walk to the feeding platform, where most of the time some mokeys are around.
At lunch time Ren took out a really good nasi Goreng with egg and chicken and afterwards he prepaired Ananas, bananas and Maracuja for us. There we met a Orang Uthan mother with her child we had plenty of time to look at them and simply watch the little guy jumping round his mother. It was very nice to see this fascinating animals in the nature.
Omano and ren always had some details to tell and show and so we learned much about the jungle and the nature there. We also saw a really huge butterfly and a tucan bird.
Ren and the guys are always saying “don´t hurry, it´s you holiday, enjoy the nature” and that was one of the very true things because we really had time to look and expierince the jungle and his animals and sounds.
The firts night we spent at a camp on a lttle river were the cook made a magnificent food, it was soo delicious and I think 4 different kinds of food. From tofu and tempeh, to chicken and vegetables. And everything really good! We had a bath in the waterfall and we liked it very much, because we were really exhausted after about 6 hours of trekking and climbing.
The second day we saw Gibbons and a turtle and of course again many plants and we got narations from Ren and Rasta. As it was the second day i was glas that Rasta in the end told me where to put my feet, because it most of the time it was seep and we did very much climbing. And my muscles were kind of trembling the second day, their help was really welcome.
We absolutely enjoyed the trek with Omano, Ren, If and the others because they are totally nice and professional guides that really care for their guests and want to make the trip perfect for you. They really show you their jungle and what it is like.
So if they tell to take the simpler way you should do that because they know every detail and they also can say if you could do it or not.
I also recomend trekking expirience and maybe some climbing skills.
And plan some extra days in Bukit Lawang because it is really nice there.
So thank you guys for this fantastic days in your jungle!
