Seven Days Trekking In Bukit Lawang

Itinerary :

Day one

After breakfast and departure for the six-day trek. Walk around 6-7 hours into the jungle looking for orangutans and other wildlife. Around noon lunch break, before the walk continues through to the campsite. Take a rest at the camp, get a hot drink, tea or coffee, after taking a shower in the small stream. Preparation of dinner.

Day two

After breakfast get ready for the trek. Walk around 6-7 hours and go to the next campsite, searching for orangutans and other wildlife. Discovering medicinal plants and jungle food: learning their use and preparation. After a walk from the jungle, the walk continues along the river to reach the campsite. Take a rest at the camp and a swim in the river and get a hot drink. Preparation of dinner.

Day three

Start after breakfast, get ready for the trek. Walk around 6-7 hours along the river to the next camp while searching for signs of wild orangutan nests and other wildlife tracks, and collect jungle vegetables for dinner. Learn how to make the jungle camp and how to prepare jungle dinner.

Day four

Start after breakfast, get ready for the trek. The camp will not move this day, trek around the camp for 5-6 hours searching for wild orangutans and other animals, collecting jungle vegetables for dinner. Around 6 p.m. watch animals in the salt lake, where they come to drink to get iron from the stone. Preparation of dinner.

Day five

Day six

After breakfast, start walking to the next camp Walk for around 5-6 hours in the jungle, searching for wild orangutans and other animals. Take a rest at the camp and get a hot drink and then take a swim in the clean jungle river. Preparation of dinner.

Day Seven
After breakfast, just relax around the camp. After lunch, travel back to Bukit Lawang by tube rafting down the river.

Price per person:  300 Euro/person.

Minimum group size: two – three person.
Maximum group size: four – eight person.

Price includes :

Fully licensed English-speaking jungle guide.
Permits to enter the national park PHPA office ( ranger station ) camera tax 150,000,Idr
Permits from the Bukit Lawang guide association.
Foods and fruits, drinking water when during jungle trekking.
Tent, sleeping mat, blanket/shed, mosquito net.
Traditional tube rafting back to Bukit Lawang.

What you need to bring  :

Good walking boots or sports shoes.
Long Trousers or shorts for walking into the jungle.
Sports sandals or flip-flops for walking in the river.
Towel, short pants, swimming suit.
Insect repellent, medicines.
Light trousers and long-sleeved tops (an extra set of clean and dry clothes for the night).
Head torch or flashlight.

The trek itinerary could be changed to fit your condition.
and you could choose either walk back or by tube rafting.
